2022 Initiative: ESL Enrichment Kits
English as a Second Language (ESL) students are often underserved in their different situations and denied access to creative writing. We wanted to overcome this barrier for bilingual, ESL, and immigrant children by creating individual kits full of creative writing enrichment.
Each kit consists of:
- An instruction page
- One pack of crayons
- An original coloring storybook
- A creative writing, emotional reflection activity packet
- 1-3 picture/chapter books
Our Materials
All of our materials are translated into the first language of the children they are going to.
Tiyya
We worked with Tiyya, an organization that serves immigrants and refugees, to deliver our creative writing kits to their youth population.
We were able to give 40 kits to children who speak Arabic, Farsi, and Pashto.

Distribution at Tiyya's Tea & Tots!
We were able to partake in Tiyya’s Tea & Tots event at Modjeska Park, centering around the organization’s youth and mothers! The kits were distributed to through the event, allowing us to deliver our materials to their ESL and immigrant children. We want to thank Tiyya for allowing this collaboration and project to happen!
